Inn of Itself
Teaming up with multi-instrumentalist/vocalist/engineer Dominic Guss, Jason and Dominic released an EP under the entity Inn of Itself. Inn of Itself is a continually evolving music production and writing team originally formed by Dominic Guss and Kat Werlin featuring a variety of guest artists. After releasing a number of singles, Inn of Itself’s first EP, “Beautiful Restart” will be released October 20th, 2023. Produced by Dominic and Jason, it features five songs in the Dance and R&B/Soul genres. Jason has substantial writing credits on the original songs, and, of course, performed on the album as well. Dream Eternal Bliss
After leaving Days Before Tomorrow to move cross-country from New Jersey to Arizona, Jason pursued other projects. While having success with other various collaborations, Jason stayed friendly with the members of Days Before Tomorrow, and ironically has made a guest appearance on every album since his departure.
Eventually, however, Days Before Tomorrow did go on hiatus, and two band members decided to do something a little different. Bandmates Scott Kahn and Derek Davodowich began to plot the next chapter of their musical journey, by pursuing something more commercially appealing; this is what became Dream Eternal Bliss.
After positive reviews of the first album, there were band lineup changes, and a new singer, Faith Banca, joined the band. The second album was released…and after initial success, the pandemic hit, putting things on temporary hold.
It was around this time a new lineup was created, featuring Faith, Scott, and Derek, but now with former DBT bandmate Jason, as well as Dominic Guss. Given the geographical distances involved, and the pandemic, it took quite some time to finally complete- but in 2023, the EP Sunset to Stars was finally released! Jason again contributed heavily to the writing on the album, and of course, performed on the recording as well.
One World Government
Gods of Eden Was placed on the Official Ballot for the 61st Annual Grammy Awards by the Recording Academy!
While working with James Linton of Soundwaves Productions for the Promise sessions, Jason and James developed a friendship as well as a musical connection. Jason was asked to collaborate with James and Paul Barrett, founder and lead singer of One World Government. Sonically influenced by Pink Floyd, Rush, and The Doors, the fusion of alternative, progressive, psychedelic and classic rock is often marked by lyrics of conspiracy, humanism, and spirituality.
Several videos from the first album- Souls for Robots and Spiritual Cage- Jason appeared in. Jason’s ability to work in many genres, as well as experience in orchestrating keyboard and string parts, proved invaluable to the next One World Government album release. In fact, Jason was not only asked to finish the album with Paul and James, but was asked to be the keyboardist of all subsequent albums and live performances. Thus far, the band has been very well received by fans and critics, and the Spiritual Cage video has even had some success overseas in Switzerland. Certainly, one of the highlights was that OWG was placed on the Official Ballot for the 61st Annual Grammy Awards by The Recording Academy for Record Of The Year, Best New Artist, and Best Rock Performance!

Matthew Johns Band
Back in early 2014, Jason received a call from high-school band mate and long-time friend, Matt Facciolla while at work. “Hey man, you wanna play?” was the voice on the line…to which Jason said “Yes!”
Versatile and multi-talented, Facciolla has appeared as direct support for several national acts, namely One Republic at the Sundance Film Festival, The Goo Goo Dolls, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s, The J. Geils Band as well as Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Foghat and more. Matt has been featured on stage with many prominently hailed musicians including Hugh McDonald of Bon Jovi, Danny Toler of The Allman Brothers Band, Boston and more. Jason has been friends with Matt since their Buffalo days, and previously they shared co-writing duties when they were bandmates in TDM. Matt represents a unique blend of classic rock, hard rock, country and pop genres, which has a wide appeal to all audiences regardless of their age and generation.
Two weeks after that phone call, Jason flew to the waterfront of Sarasota, Florida, and played keyboards for 15,000 fans, opening with Matt for Foghat. It was the first time Matt and Jason had shared a stage in over 20 years. The gig went well, and Jason was asked to be the keyboardist for Matt. This led to other performances, both large and small, including opening for the Vinyl All Stars (a band that includes Steely Dan / Doobie Brothers alumnus Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, Boston former members Barry Gordreau and Fran Sheehan, Leroy “LRS” Romans (The Wailers/Third World), Robert “Mousey” Thompson from James Brown’s band and Fosterchild’s Danny Beissel. Hugh McDonald (Bon Jovi), Cliff Williams (AC/DC) and former Gregg Allman Band drummer Chaz Trippy) at a charity concert. Besides his keyboard abilities, Jason also added vocal harmonies to Matt’s live performances.
Initially what began as “live” support, evolved into recording new songs in the studio for Matt’s upcoming album. Jason and Matt still worked synergistically, even after all the years of their original work. After laying down tracks at GCR Studios in Buffalo under Producer/Artist Robby Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls, as well as a show for nearly 20,000 people at Buffalo’s Canalside, Jason also did some additional composing and tracks in his studio, The Operating Room, which are to also be incorporated into the new album. A hiatus briefly occurred with the very unexpected passing away of long-time bass player Joe Fanara, but now with a new band name (previously Fishbowllulu), Matt is back to recording and live shows. Promise the Truth
Originally introduced by a mutual friend, Jason has worked with Arizona-based pop/R&B artist Promise The Truth, whom Jason has written for and co-produced. Promise has worked alongside world-renowned producers and writers such as Ced Solo, the Platinum Producer for Genuine, Anthony Hamilton, and Kelly Rolland. He has also written for, and recorded songs by, P Diddy’s go-to writer, “Lo”.
Jason’s instrumental and composing expertise combined with Promise’s exceptional vocal skills and great understanding of urban/R&B sound production led to a unique blend of classical, pop, and R&B sound- all in a radio-friendly package. Their first song, Overtime, was considered by NBC for placement in a sports show. Ultimately, this fell through, but the duo continued to write and record, which led to quite a few local performances in AZ, and by early 2015, Promise and Jason had gotten radio airplay on their single “A Millions Signs”. A Million Signs charted as high as #35 on the R and B charts, and quickly garnered more than 200,000 views on YouTube. Around the same time, Jason and Promise also recorded “Like California”, an upbeat song that Jason plays primarily on electric guitar, again showing his versatility in creating songs. It was also during this time that Jason and Promise were introduced to James Linton, musician, engineer, and owner of Soundwaves Productions, a professional studio in Arizona. Jason and James have gone on to collaborate on other projects, including One World Government with Paul Barrett.
Days Before Tomorrow
The Sky Is Falling was produced by legendary rock producer Ron Nevison (Led Zeppelin, The Who, Heart, Jefferson Starship, Europe, Kiss, Damn Yankees, and more), and was mixed by Grammy award winning engineer Earl Cohen (Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Usher, Will Smith, Tina Turner), who first began working with Days Before Tomorrow in 2008 while they were recording a single for the compilation CD, Hair Apparent: The Main Man Records Tribute to Hair Bands.
After moving back to the NYC/NJ area from Boston, Jason wanted to return to live performances and original music. Jason, on an unusual whim, answered an ad in the paper looking for a keyboard player. Jason auditioned, and got the gig within 24 hours. Originally, this was to be for the band Five Star Dive founded by Dave Sempier (now Untitled Art), which blended punk, pop and angst in a commercially viable way. However, the lineup changed, with Jason and Scott Kahn (Dream Eternal Bliss) going on to found Shocking Martha, which then became Days Before Tomorrow (DBT), a pop/progressive rock band.
Working tirelessly in Wayne, New Jersey, Jason and the band moved forward releasing their self-titled debut EP in 2006. The first track, which Jason co-wrote, “Can’t Do Anything,” was a political statement disguised as a jaded love song, and received an honorable mention in Billboard Magazine’s 14th Annual Songwriting Contest. In August 2008, a demo recording of the song “Sleepwalking” (from the band’s full-length 2009 CD, The Sky Is Falling, of which Jason wrote or co-wrote 10 of the 13 songs) received an honorable mention in Billboard Magazine’s 15th Annual Songwriting Competition. Jason, of course, also performed on the CD, and a number of tracks were recorded at Jason’s Studio, The Operating Room, as well. The self-produced CD, in combination with the band’s remake of Nelson’s “After The Rain” on Hair Apparent:The Main Man Records Tribute to Hair Bands helped land the interest of Ron Nevison, who then went on the produce the band’s first full length album, The Sky Is Falling
As testament to Jason’s value in the band after he relocated to Arizona, it took DBT 2 years to find a suitable replacement, as DBT continued to play live without a live keyboard player and only pre-recorded tracks of Jason for nearly two years. In 2009, The Sky Is Falling won Record of the Year at the 2009 LA Music Awards.Jason looks at the experience as a time of tremendous growth and development, and is thankful to have worked with some very talented people. Jason’s skills as a songwriter, vocal and string arranger are clearly marked on their Debut album. Because of this, Scott Kahn has had Jason do string arrangements and recordings on his other projects, including Beyond Tomorrow and Dream Eternal Bliss.

When not in the studio or on stage, Jason is also the Senior Keyboard Editor for MusicPlayers.com, an online music magazine for professional musicians. Not only does writing for this prestigious online music magazine provide him with an opportunity to test and review the latest in keyboard equipment, it also provides him with the opportunity to attend the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) trade show every year in Anaheim. Here’s a look at some of the artists he has caught up with at this show. He also recently had the opportunity to interview David Rosenthal, Billy Joel’s musical director and keyboardist, on stage at Madison Square Garden before the show.
